Bhubaneswar: With the southwest Monsoon now active, rainfall is likely to continue in Odisha for the next couple of days under the influence of a low-pressure.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the fairly widespread downpour is likely to continue in different parts of the State during the next two-three days. The weatherman has also issued ‘red alert’ for three districts – Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur.
Meanwhile, two persons have lost their lives due to rain-related mishaps in Malkangiri district. One Bhima Kabasi was killed under Padia block after a portion of the wall of her house collapsed on her yesterday. Likewise, a snake-bitten youth died in Pataganapali of Malkangiri district after he could not be taken to the hospital due to snapping of road connectivity on account of heavy rainfall in the district.
